J.T. DuskyJ.T. Dusky

J.T. Dusky is the author of Lassiter, the short story prequel to Solarity. Read Lassiter for free between August 6th to 12th.

Q: When did you decide to become a writer and why? What made you stop dreaming about becoming a writer/author and actually become one?

As a freelance article writer, I always wanted to write a novel. I wrote a short story, uploaded it to Amazon and it actually sold a few copies. It was exciting to discover that people were actually interested in what I was writing about. So I plunged into a novel and my first novel is now complete and will be available in August 2017.

Q: What do you hope to give readers through your books?

Thought provoking fiction where they ask themselves one basic question; is this real or is this fiction.

Q: What did you learn from writing Lassiter?

My book in this promo is a short story that helped me define one of the main characters of my novel, Solarity.

Q: Why do you write?

I write simply because I like to. I love to create and writing allows me to do just that.

Hopefully, some of my readers will like my fiction and if just one person does, then my mission has been accomplished.

Q: Why does Lassiter matter?

My short story Prequel matters because it gives the reader a small glimpse into what my upcoming novel is about. The reader then can make a final decision as to whether they wish to invest the time in reading my full length novel.

Q: What is the most important thing for your readers to know about you?Lassiter - J.T. Dusky

I like to use real places and events and mix it in with my fiction. I like to call it a work of “friction.”

Q: Is there anything fun or quirky about you that you’d like to share with readers?

I guess what makes me a little quirky is that one day I am writing science fiction and the next day I am writing children’s books. With me, I can go in opposite directions.

Q: If you could ask your readers anything, what would it be?

If I could ask my readers anything, I guess it would be, did I make my Prequel interesting enough for you to pursue any more of my work?

James LindsayJames Lindsay

James Lindsay, along with his brother Marc, is the author of Plato Wyngard and the Valley of the Immortals, which you can read for free from August 6th to 12th.

Q: When did you decide to become a writer and why? Was there a catalyst? What made you stop dreaming about becoming a writer/author and actually become one?

My older brother (Marc Lindsay) inspired me when he launched his YA Urban Fantasy series, Perigord in 2015. I had been writing screenplays before then but decided to jump into the narrative prose with this Plato Wyngard – action-adventure series.

Q: What do you hope to give readers through your books?

I hope the readers are entertained primarily. Exciting action coupled with ‘real’ characters that they care about. If my readers aren’t enjoying the escape in this world then it has failed. The strong reviews and feedback so far lead me to believe that the escape is working at full thrust.

Q: What is your favorite part of Plato Wyngard and the Valley of the Immortals and why?

I really enjoyed the brotherhood that Plato and his good buddy Luther MacBeth share. They will literally sacrifice their own lives for each other. A friendship based on love and respect built through adversity. Much like my friendship with my two brothers including Marc my co-writer in this series.

Q: What first inspired you to write Plato Wyngard and the Valley of the Immortals, andPlato Wyngard and the Valley of the Immortals - Marc & James Lindsay what made you commit to writing it?

Deciding to co-write this series drove me to forge on even the words weren’t flowing or the real world threatened to block my way. Marc is a very driven individual and his work ethic and enthusiasm made it easy to continue on. We are currently writing two.

Q: If you could ask your readers anything, what would it be?

What is it about my books that get you through to the last page and open to the first page of the sequel?
